The original Coffee Talk was a huge success for developer Toge Productions and publisher Chorus Worldwide when it was released in 2020. Its upcoming sequel has just been announced to be a day one Game Pass launch for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 20, with a simultaneous launch on PlayStation consoles and Nintendo Switch.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly on the Game Pass will also support streaming via the Xbox Cloud Gaming at launch. Game Pass subscribers can now pre-install the game on the platform of their choice, and the original Coffee Talk is also available on Game Pass.

Non-Game Pass gamers can also enjoy pre-orders at a 10 per cent launch discount on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation Plus members for the PS4 and PS5, as well as on the Xbox Marketplace.

For the uninitiated, the Coffee Talk games take place in a present-day, fantastical version of Seattle, Washington where ordinary humans, quirky orcs, business-oriented succubi, and other mythological denizens coexist.

As a barista, players will create each requested drink with a mixture of ingredients like tea, ginger, chocolate, mint and more to soothe their patrons. Your aim is to lend an ear and provide a shoulder for your customers to cry on.

Strangers will turn become friends as players listen to them vent about their real-life problems. Customers’ moods can be improved by serving them warm drinks complete with personalised latte art designed with an in-game fluid simulation system.

Players can also relax inCoffee Talk’s soothing environment and cozy up to the tunes of the shop’s lo-fi beats. Like the original game, this sequel will have players exploring various narrative arcs, concoct recipes with distinct ingredients, and help heal those in dire need of conversation.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly will launch on PC and Mac via Steam, PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on April 20. Physical editions from Serenity Forge, which include a Collector’s Edition, are now available for pre-order at retailers worldwide.
