According to a reliable Rockstar Games insider and leaker, an official GTA 6 statement may be arriving much sooner than you think.
Despite a massive leak providing players with their first glimpse at the game and confirming a return to Vice City was in the works, fans of the franchise are still waiting for the big reveal. That news, according to GTA 6 dataminer Tez2, could come soon as GTA Online prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
“I feel like the next time we could receive some news or an update is around June or July. Likely the latter,” he said in the forum post.
“If Rockstar were to tease anything GTA6 related within GTA Online around September or October, it has to be included with the Summer update. And Rockstar is very aware of us dataminers.”
Tez2 believes Rockstar will piggyback the anniversary to reveal details about the highly anticipated game. The dataminer thinks this could be done through an event or activity similar to how 'Treasure Hunt' led to Red Dead Redemption 2.
Rockstar North design director Scott Butchard pointed out in an interview with GamesRadar that they have lined up surprises for the players in the pipeline.
“Frankly, there are so many cool ideas and directions we can take, and it’s great to still surprise our players and give them something to be excited about,” said Butchard.
Butchard may be implying that the studio has something planned for the announcement of GTA 6.
