We have previously seen reports on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) 2 being potentially in the works and releasing on the Source 2 engine. The leak was seen through unknown executables called ‘csgos2.exe’ and ‘cs2.exe’, which implies that it may be releasing soon. Well, it seems like Left 4 Dead is finding itself in the same situation.
A new leak on Twitter has now explicitly mentioned Left 4 Dead 3. This leak is related to a new edition of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive based on Valve's Source 2 engine, which is expected to be released soon. Despite being linked with CS:GO, the code of this latest leak includes a direct reference to Left 4 Dead 3.
While this leak is the first of any information related to the zombie shooter title, it is still quite early to make any speculations. It mightbe possible that Left 4 Dead 3 is just a codename for another game, but it could also be possible that the game is currently under development utilising the Source 2 engine.
Just like CS:GO 2, fans can only wait for the official announcement from Valve in the coming months.
